Alan Ahmad, 42, of Gosport, is currently renovating 32b Forton Road with the hopes of opening Pound Plus in the next few weeks. Having run a barbershop in the town for the past five years, he had to give it up due to health reasons before exploring options where he didn't have to be on his feet all day. The closure of Poundland at the end of January came as a disappointment to Alan as a regular customer, however it gave him an idea to open his own budget store with there now being a gap in the market.
