Victim identified in deadly Mobile shooting; suspect behind bars

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) -- The victim of a shooting that happened on Vienna Avenue in Mobile over the weekend has been identified, according to the Mobile Police Department.
According to an MPD news release, 40-year-old Sheanaka Poindexter was shot and killed around 12:30 Saturday morning, March 21.
Officers responded to the 5400 block of Vienna Avenue in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they found Poindexter dead from a gunshot wound.
During the investigation, they determined a man Poindexter knew had broken into the home and shot her during a domestic incident.
Desmond Longmire, 39, of Mobile, was arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and murder. He was taken to the Metro Jail, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
