Suspect in P10M robbery in Bulacan arrested

CAMP Capt. Julian Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga -- Authorities arrested on Sunday one of the suspects implicated in the P10-million robbery holdup incident, within 24 hours after the crime was reported to the police. Police reports said that a group of armed individuals forcibly entered a residence at La Residencia Subdivision at around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday and declared a holdup. After the incident was reported to the police later that night, the Calumpit Municipal Police Station launched a hot pursuit operation in coordination with the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) and Intel Cluster 4, under the supervision of Bulacan Police Provincial Director Col. Angel Garcillano. With the help of footage from security cameras in the area, investigators were able to identify the alleged getaway vehicle used in the crime. Subsequent coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) enabled authorities to trace the owner of the vehicle, which led to the identification and arrest of one of the suspects on Sunday. The suspect was positively identified by the victim and witnesses as one of the four individuals who carried out the robbery and is now under police custody for proper disposition. A criminal complaint for Robbery in Band under Article 296 of the Revised Penal Code is being prepared for filing before the City Prosecutor's Office in Malolos, Bulacan, while follow-up operations are ongoing for the arrest of the remaining suspects.
