A one-minute symbolic blackout will be observed across the country on the night of 25 March, marking Genocide Day. The blackout will take place from 10:30pm to 10:31pm, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in an official handout on Monday. However, key point installations (KPIs), emergency facilities, and foreign missions located in Bangladesh will remain exempt from the blackout. Bangladesh observes the programme to pay homage to those killed in "Operation Searchlight," launched by Pakistani occupation forces on the dreadful night of 25 March 1971.
