Middletown crash on South Main Street closes Route 17, officials say

MIDDLETOWN -- A crash with injuries on Route 17 in Middletown closed an intersection Monday afternoon, officials say.
Crews were called to Highland Avenue and South Main Street, which is part of Route 17, City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 said in a post on Facebook.
Firefighters were at the scene as of 12:37 p.m., and officials asked that people avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
Middletown police Capt. Brian Hubbs said the crash was serious, adding that officers were at the scene. He did not have any additional information.
