ST. LOUIS -- Police found a man carrying several guns near the North 8th Street and Pine MetroLink station Thursday. Jayden Grundy, 23, is charged with felony possession of a weapon on a bus or in a terminal.
Officers were patrolling the section of Downtown St. Louis because of a recent increase in open-air drug sales. Police say that Grundy appeared to conduct hand-to-hand transactions with people exiting the MetroLink.
Officers said that Grundy clutched his jacket in an attempt to hide a firearm. According to court documents, he also opened his jacket to show another individual what was inside.
Officers approached Grundy and performed a frisk for weapons. During the encounter, an officer saw the butt of a firearm inside Grundy's bag. A search of the suspect revealed a SCCY CPX-2 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and a Ruger P95 9 mm semi-automatic pistol.
Investigators discovered that the Ruger P95 had been reported stolen. Police say that Grundy was within the MetroLink terminal turnstiles at the time of the arrest.
