Man in his 80s dies following morning crash in Rishton

A man in his 80s has died following a crash in Rishton earlier this morning, March 23. Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after an incident in Blackburn Old Road this morning. Emergency services were called at 8.30 am to a report that a Citroen C3 had left the carriageway, collided with a stone wall at slow speed before coming to rest in a hedgerow. The driver of the Citroen was given first aid at the scene by members of the public and colleagues from the North-West Ambulance Service. A force spokesperson said: "Our thoughts are very much with his family and loved ones at this sad and distressing time.
