Jack Farthing (38) of no fixed abode was charged with exposing himself to a female in the hospital on March 21.
A police officer connected the accused to the charge and opposed bail.
The court was told staff in the A&E department contacted police about a male allegedly exposing himself in a waiting area in front of staff and patients.
He had with him a half bottle of alcohol, the court was told.
Farthing was arrested for indecent exposure and told police he had been sleeping in a bus shelter since his release.
Defence solicitor Paddy McGurk said that his client would benefit from probation and this sentiment had been shared by a judge who had dealt with Farthing recently.
District Judge Oonagh Mullan said that the previous judge could rule on the case and adjourned it to Coleraine Court on March 30.
