Norbert Maiksner, 49 from Timsbury Crescent, Havant, is on trial at Portsmouth Crown Court for the murder of a woman from the same town, 45-year-old Frances Obiefuleh, plus one count of child cruelty. Ms Obiefuleh's body was found by police in her home on April 17 last year. Maiksner was arrested that same morning on the M40, near High Wycombe, and brought back to Portsmouth for questioning. This afternoon (Monday, March 23) a document of agreed facts was presented to members of the jury, including details of Maiksner's police interviews before he was charged of the victim's murder. The defendant was interviewed by police multiple times prior to being charged on April 19, 2025. In all interviews, he refused to talk about Ms Obiefuleh's death, despite repeated lines of questioning. "So you should know I don't wanna talk," he said to officers. "I don't want to talk to anyone anymore." During these interviews, he also described the victim's death as a "bad dream" and told officers he was not going to speak with them because he would soon "wake up". He said: "It's just a bad dream. I will wake up tomorrow. "Everybody is alive, it's just a dream. I told you many times I just wanna wake up. She [Ms Obiefuleh] is not dead. She's at work - she probably is. "I had many dreams like this, and I wake up sweating the next day. I don't want to dream anymore." Maiksner later told police he was feeling "tired" and would like to get some sleep, so the interview was terminated. Speaking to officers about previous dreams, he added: "Somebody shoots me, or I drown. But I can't remember because I wake [up]." After being charged with Ms Obiefuleh's murder, Maiksner again said, "it's all a dream." An audio file was also played to the court of a phone call Ms Obiefuleh had with a man called Nabi Durnish, the night before her body was found. She and Mr Durnish had gone on a date together a few days prior. While the audio recording was only of her end of the phone call, she described herself as being "so happy" and spoke with him about "if we were something".
