It is currently unclear what has caused this incident, but we do know that emergency services are on scene(Image: Kirsty O'Connor/PA Wire) Passengers are being warned of disruption to travel this afternoon following an incident between East Croydon and Clapham Junction. The incident was reported not long after 3.30pm this afternoon (Monday, March 23) and is expected to cause trains to be cancelled, delayed or revised. According to National Rail, emergency services are responding to an incident that has occurred between East Croydon and Clapham Junction. A spokesperson for the rail operator said at 3.45pm: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between East Croydon and Clapham Junction / Tulse Hill. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. This is expected until 4.30pm. "Fewer lines than normal are available for trains running from East Croydon towards London Victoria. This will lead to delays, cancellations, and ad-hoc alterations on this route." This line serves Surrey train stations such as Reigate, Redhill and Merstham. Therefore some disruption can be expected at these stations. Disruption at these stations impacts both Thameslink and Southern Rail services, with a spokesperson for the latter saying: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between East Croydon and Clapham Junction. Services between these stations are now being delayed or revised. "We are unsure of the delays this will cause to your journey at the moment. If your service has stopped between stations, please listen to the announcements on board. We know where you are, and we are working to get you on the move shortly." The details of the incident are yet to be revealed by organisations involved, however it is expected to cause disruption to train travel right up to rush hour this afternoon (Monday, March 23), and possibly later. If your journey has been affected by this incident, National Rail has said your ticket will be accepted at no extra cost on the below services: For more updates on this incident and the ensuing disruption, visit the National Rail webpage for it here: www.nationalrail.co.uk/service-disruptions/east-croydon-20260323/.
