ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - Wylie Independent School District has named Reagan Berry as the district's new Director of Federal and State Programs.
Berry will step into the role for the 2026-2027 school year after serving Wylie ISD for 11 years, most recently as principal of Wylie High School.
During her time on campus, district leaders say Berry built strong relationships with students, staff, and families and led initiatives to support student success.
"I've absolutely loved my time at Wylie High School. It's been home, and I'm excited for what the future holds for me, Wylie High, and Wylie ISD," Berry said.
In her new position, Berry will oversee federal and state programs that provide resources, services, and opportunities for students across the district.
"Growth brings opportunity, and as Wylie ISD continues to expand, we are focused on evolving how we serve students and families across the district," said Superintendent Joey Light. "We are looking forward to having fresh eyes look at many of these programs."
Berry brings a strong background in student-centered leadership and program development, including her work expanding Career and Technical Education opportunities and helping launch the Purple Dog Company at Wylie High School.
Superintendent Light added, "Under Reagan's leadership at the high school, we have started several new programs to meet the needs of an ever-growing student body. Reagan is the right person at the right time."
Berry and her husband, Kyle, have three children enrolled in Wylie ISD, giving her both an educator's and a parent's perspective.
"My goal has always been to build a bridge with families so they can trust us with their kids... At the end of the day, it's about learning how to effectively and efficiently serve our families and students with the resources we've been given," Berry said. "Thank you for the opportunity to lead, and I'm excited to serve in a new way."
As Wylie ISD continues to grow, district leaders say the creation of this position reflects a commitment to expanding access to programs and ensuring every student has the support they need to succeed.
