Longtime WLTZ host Calvin Floyd dies at 82

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WLTZ) - Former WLTZ television personality Calvin Floyd has died at the age of 82. According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, Floyd died Sunday in Cumming, Georgia. Floyd was a true staple of the Chattahoochee Valley and his "folksy" charm is something many grew up with. He was a fixture in Columbus broadcasting for over two decades, most notably as host of WLTZ's Rise & Shine from 1989 to 2010. Following the conclusion of the one-hour morning program, he hosted a midday program for the station until 2012. Details regarding Floyd's cause of death or funeral arrangements have not yet been made available.
