The historic Blue Bird Toffee Factory, a part of the local landscape for generations, is being redeveloped into 13 new homes. To mark the next stage of the development, Grove Properties Group will be opening the doors to the newly completed show home on Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22. The historic site in Hunnington (Image: Handout) In the village of Hunnington, near Halesowen, the striking red-brick factory has long been an iconic feature of the area. For decades it played a central role in the community, producing the famous Blue Bird toffees that became a household name across the country. The site also includes the former Welfare Building, which provided recreational and social facilities for factory workers and formed an important part of the community life surrounding the factory during its operational years. The transformation of the factory is being carried out by Marsden Kiwi Homes, with the homes being marketed by Grove Properties Group and Miller Rose. Rather than demolishing the historic structure, the development preserves the character and architectural integrity of the original factory while introducing modern interiors. The result will be a unique collection of 13 individually designed residences, offering a rare opportunity to own a home within one of the area's most recognisable historic buildings. Original architectural features are being retained wherever possible. This special open house event this weekend will give members of the public their first opportunity to step inside the development and experience the finished show home. Visitors will be able to explore the building, see how the historic factory has been carefully reimagined for modern living and learn more about the dwellings available within the development. With 13 homes available within this historic building Grove Properties Group said interest is expected to be high. Three have already been reserved off-plan. Access to the open house event this weekend is by appointment only. Contact Grove Properties Group on 01562 270072.
