Iran denies having talks with US -- media

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday denied having negotiations with the United States, the country's official IRNA news agency reported, reversing US President Donald Trump's claim earlier in the day that Washington had reached "major points of agreement" with Iran and is in contact with "a top person." Friendly countries recently sent messages to Iran indicating Washington's desire to begin talks on ending the war, but Iran has not responded, the IRNA reported, citing Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.
