A breathalyzer company impacted by a cyber-attack now says all its systems are back up and running.
The company Intoxalock experienced a cyber event which impacted drivers who are required to blow into a device before they can start their vehicle.
Once the device is installed, drivers must pass a breathalyzer test before they can start their vehicle. It won't start if your blood alcohol is .02 or higher. However, when the cyber breach affected Intoxalock's system on March 14, many drivers with one of the devices temporarily could not start their car.
In a post on their website Sunday evening, the company says its systems have been restored.
CBS13 spoke with one Maine driver who has an Intoxalock device. He says he was able to start his car last Friday.
Intoxalock says it has about 750 customers in Maine. However, it does not know how many of those were directly impacted.
In a message to CBS13, a spokesperson for Intoxalock said:
"Our primary focus continues to be supporting our customers. We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and are working diligently to resume our systems and are fully committed to supporting our customers throughout this process."
