Drew Barrymore wanted honest feedback on her dating app profile, and boy, did she get it!
The "Never Been Kissed" star recently explained on her talk show that she once asked her audience members to critique her dating app profile. In her bio, she had written that she was "not looking for marriage or children or all these things," given she's been married thrice and already has two children.
One man in the audience was not afraid to share his opinion on Barrymore's bio. "This man raised his arm and I was like, 'Yes! What do you have to say?' And he goes, 'I'm sorry, it's just really off-putting and it just sounds like you're un-open, immovable, and staunch and I would probably run away from you,'" the actress recalled. "I was like, 'But I'm trying to liberate men to think that this is a low lift?!'"
As blunt as the man's feedback was, Barrymore took it to heart, saying she changed her bio the next day. "I loved it because it was a straight man's perspective and I'm always around gay men and women, so I took his advice," she said.
As for advice for others, Barrymore has an opinion on dating app bios after using the apps for some time. "I think it's safer to probably decree nothing on a dating app," she revealed. "You're never gonna win. You're not gonna be that pithy hook that blows someone away. You're gonna say too much or too little -- just leave it alone."
