Coventry City midfielder Matt Grimes has insisted that the team still cannot look too far ahead after Saturday's win at Swansea pushed them closer to promotion to the Premier League. The 3-0 victory, combined with draws for promotion rivals Middlesbrough, Ipswich and Millwall, left the Championship leaders nine points clear and knowing a maximum of 14 points from their final seven games will take them up. But Grimes said they would not be distracted by potential prizes and would look no further than their next match, when Derby visit the CBS Arena after the international break. "We can't, it's just the next one," he told BBC CWR. "The lads that go away for internationals we wish them the best and the lads that are staying here get a bit of work in and a bit of a rest as well, so it's just the next one and we keep ticking them off. "We've put ourselves in a brilliant position and we just need to keep our levels as high as possible as they have been all season, to get the job over the line." Former Swansea skipper Grimes, who played 333 times for the Swans, admitted it was a "strange feeling" to head to the away changing room. He was given a frosty reception on his return, but chose to keep his celebrations muted after putting Coventry 2-0 up, a move which drew admiration from boss Frank Lampard. "I've got a lot of love for the club," said Grimes. "Obviously I spent a good chunk of my years here. They gave me a lot, so out of respect for the club and for the people I felt it was right not to [celebrate]."
