A corrections officer has been charged in connection with the alleged assault of an inmate at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Dutchess County that left the victim seriously injured, police said. Calvin R. Morges, 43, of Fishkill, was arrested on a grand jury indictment charging him with second-degree assault, a felony, New York State Police announced on Monday, March 23. The case stems from an incident in April 2024 at Green Haven Correctional Facility, which is located in Beekman, according to authorities. Investigators said the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision's Office of Special Investigations reported that an inmate had been hospitalized with serious injuries following an alleged assault by a correction officer. Authorities later identified the officer as Morges, police said. A Dutchess County grand jury returned an indictment against Morges on Jan. 29. He turned himself in to State Police on Thursday, March 19, was processed, and released pending further court proceedings. No additional details about the alleged assault or the victim's condition were released. Click here to follow Daily Voice Eastchester and receive free news updates.
