
Connecticut State Police trooper arrested on gun-threat charge in Shelton

SHELTON -- A Connecticut State Police trooper was arrested by Shelton police last week on charges including first-degree threatening with a gun, court records show.
Stephen Brunetti was placed on administrative duty the same day of the alleged incident, March 17, and his police powers have been suspended, according to a state police spokesperson. An internal affairs investigation has been initiated, the spokesperson said.
Brunetti has been with the state police since March 2020, according to the agency.
Shelton police have not responded to requests for information on the arrest.
Brunetti is charged with first-degree threatening with a firearm, second-degree threat of physical violence, disorderly conduct and second-degree breach of peace. He is free on a $10,000 bond, records show, and is due back in state Superior Court in Derby April 22.
