Basingstoke's first vintage and pre-loved clothing shop has opened in Festival Place. A1 Authentics, opposite Starbucks, opened on Saturday, March 21. The store specialises in vintage, pre-loved and reworked clothing at a reasonable price. Founder Ali (Alistair) Buckman, from Chineham, said: "It's been mad, everyone has just said what a refreshing place it is. The store has stock coming in 'all the time' and will be rotating it regularly. Ali started selling clothes on online platforms like Vinted, Whatnon and Tilt, where he would auction items via livestreams. "I'm just trying to create a unique range of things you can't buy anymore." He was impressed by the popularity of the shop and said it is much easier to sell in-store than online. The store is currently on a six-month lease, but Ali is hoping to extend it.
