3 dead, 4 injured as truck hits pedestrians, motorcyclist in Haryana; driver cites brake failure

In the incident, the truck hit two pedestrians -- a man and his nephew from Bihar's Chhapra. They succumbed to their injuries. "Then, while heading towards Sector 9 old bypass road in Bahadurgarh, the truck hit an autorickshaw and a motorcyclist ahead of the three-wheeler. In this incident, the motorcyclist was killed while his pillion rider was injured," a police officer told reporters. Three people were killed in separate locations after being hit by the canter truck, while four were injured. Among the injured, a woman was referred to PGIMS hospital in Rohtak, he said. The truck driver has been arrested. "During questioning, he claimed that the brakes of his vehicle had failed.
